Cracking the Da Vinci Code of Professional Sales Excellence

It’s a brave new world in financial advising, from the transition to fee for service, to
coping with the backlash of the GFC and residual client fears. Are you similar to a large
number in the industry that are asking themselves, “Can I continue to identify with the
same “old adviser paradigm” or are the changes in the industry really saying that I also
need to change?” Challenging times create the need for innovation. Maybe you’re
thinking, “What is it that I can do to crack the secret of a successful “New Client Value
Proposition” and how can I get my message across in a way that my clients will respond
in a positive and pro-active way?” Are you unknowingly stuck in old habits that are self
sabotaging your relationships and affecting client retention and business growth?

In this half day workshop we will examine these questions and others by taking you
deep into the Why, What and How of a successful professional adviser/client
relationship builder. It’s time to learn what’s working for you and what isn’t.

When you leave this session you will be inspired and empowered with real skills you can
immediately take back to your office and apply.

2010 Paraplanner Masterclass

This well regarded annual event provides paraplanning professionals the opportunity to connect and learn from their fellow peers under the guidance of the experts. This year’s program will concentrate, in a true class room environment, on contemporary strategic planning issues in the area of Retirement Planning.

The two critical issues facing paraplanners in the construction of advice in this area include:
  • how to build sufficient tax effective savings to fund a comfortable retirement with lower annual super limits; and
  • how to ensure retirement savings are transferred tax effectively on death.
  • Your facilitators and technical experts from Financial Review Professional Education - Tim Wedd and Sonia Currey - will explore these issues and coach you through practical case studies to get your advice right, by addressing:
    • funding tips and traps in light of ongoing regulatory and interpretative changes;
    • key pension establishment steps to deliver the desired client outcome; and
    • super wealth transfer issues.
We look forward to see you there and mixing with your fellow master peers!

Your facilitators: Tim Wedd and Sonia Currey  of AFR Professional Education (formally Financial Essentials)

Compliance Campus

This half day workshop delivered by our compliance specialist Claire Wivell-Platter, is designed to refine your understanding of the more complex compliance issues you face on a daily basis and how you can manage them.  Claire in her natural lively and interactive manner, will draw on practical scenarios and recent case law to walk you through how you can avoid the common compliance traps and create more efficiencies in the key aspects of your planning process, including:
  • Client Service Agreements – why they are needed and how you do them well
  • Statements of Advice – debunking the SOA myths…what has to be there and what you can leave out!
  • Remuneration Disclosure – what goes wrong and how to disclose your value to your clients
  • Limited Advice – The dangers and how to protect yourself
  • Gearing – What’s reasonable and what you can and can’t do in the debt advice space
A feature of this workshop is the time dedicated to peer-to-peer discussions on the issues presented, in order to draw practical conclusions and real outcomes you can use under the guidance of the expert.

We hope you can join us for this ‘live’ and interactive version of our popular Solid Gold Compliance on series.  A session not to be missed by compliance professionals too!
