FPA announces CFP® professional ambassador program
19 November 2009
The Financial Planning Association (FPA) has launched a new initiative, the CFP® Professional Ambassador Program, which will promote the importance of the CFP® certification to consumers, financial planners, media and politicians alike.
Each year, CFP® practitioner members will be selected to become ambassadors to raise awareness of the CFP® Marks as the global symbol of excellence in financial planning.
FPA CEO, Jo-Anne Bloch said the CFP® Professional Ambassador Program is aimed at seeking out those CFP® practitioners who proudly promote their CFP® professional status.
“We want the ambassador to stand out as being passionate about CFP® certification, their profession, and promoting high quality advice to the community.” Ms Bloch said.
“We are looking for a CFP® professional that promotes their excellence to their clients and greater community through other means than just placing the letters beside their name and on their business card.”
The ambassador will be a positive role model among the financial planning community and will be publicly profiled to help raise awareness of the CFP® Marks.
“To achieve CFP® certification, practitioners must reach the highest professional standard, which is a great accomplishment in itself. To then be selected as a CFP® Professional Ambassador will be a great honour.” Ms Bloch said.
“The ambassador will receive a number of visual promotions and online advertisements, a local media campaign, an article and photo in Financial Planning Magazine and much more.” Ms Bloch said.
The program is open to all current CFP® practitioner members, from newly fledged CFP® professionals to those almost ready to retire. Applications will be open from 19 November to 11 December 2009.
