After the launch of the revamped Honorary Awards program, the FPA is delighted to invite members to self-nominate for the latest round of Fellow Awards. Nominations are also open for the Distinguished Service Award and Life Member Award.
Fellow
The Fellow Award overlays membership status. Only FPA practitioner members are eligible to apply for Fellow, the award of which recognises outstanding professional practice, selfless contribution to the profession and the community, and exemplary leadership as a practitioner.
Members self-nominate for this award. The Board Membership & Marketing Committee will review applications quarterly and make recommendations to the FPA Board.
The final round of nominations for the FPA Fellow Award opens on 20 September.
The FPA currently has 67 Fellows.
Distinguished Service
The Distinguished Service Award is open to all FPA members who, through voluntary service to FPA Chapters, committees and taskforces, make an exceptional contribution to the work of the FPA and the common good of the profession. Nominations, previously limited to FPA directors, committee members and senior managers, are now being accepted from all FPA members. The Board Membership & Marketing Committee will review applications annually and make recommendations to the FPA Board.

Life Member
Like Fellows, Life Member is an honorary award which overlays membership status. It is awarded to those individuals who have been exemplary supporters of the FPA and the profession of financial planning. They will be well regarded by the wider community as advocates for the profession, and they will have made a significant contribution to furthering the needs and interests of financial planners and their clients. Both FPA members and non members are eligible for the Life Member award. Nominations are to be made only by FPA Board directors and are approved annually by the FPA Board.
FPA Value of Advice Awards will continue to be made in recognition of the value of advice given by a CFP® practitioner member to a client.
Celebrating success
Certificates from the August round of nominations will be presented to award recipients at the Gala Event at the FPA National Conference on the Gold Coast in November 2010.
Successful Fellow award recipients from the October/November nomination period will be notified by mail in December.
